transcript-lake search

Search masked event text using a case-insensitive literal substring.

Invocation#

sh
transcript-lake [--data-dir <path>] search <text> [--runtime <r>] [--session <id>] [--type <type>] [--limit <n>] [--json]

Purpose#

Search masked event text using a case-insensitive literal substring.

Inputs and options#

  • Required <text> is formed by joining all positional words. Percent and underscore are escaped, so they remain literal characters.
  • Optional runtime, session, and event-type filters match events; type spelling is not prevalidated.
  • --limit <n> keeps the newest n; without it every match is listed. --json selects JSON output.

Output and state effect#

Read-only. Returns matching timestamp, runtime, session, event type, and the whole masked text, newest first.

Exact refusals#

  • Missing or blank text is refused as usage: transcript-lake search [--json] <text>.
  • An unsupported runtime is refused as unknown source "bogus" (expected one of: claude, codex, omp, droid, kimi, jeden, …, aider, hooks; `transcript-lake sources` shows each with its roots on this machine), the list being every runtime of the adapter registry.
  • --limit must be a whole number of at least one; omit it to list every match.
  • An unrecognized --wat is refused as unknown search flag: --wat.
  • Repeating --json is refused as search received duplicate --json.

All long flags are exact and single-use. A value flag never consumes another --flag. Global --data-dir may appear anywhere in the invocation, must appear once, and selects an absolute root.
